Mastiii 4: 21 Saal Ka Rishta, 8 Saal Ka Gap, Aur Ab? Amar, Prem, Meet Wapas! (November 21, 2025)

Imagine karo. 2004. Masti ek film aayi jo define kar gayi ek generation ka comedy. Uske baad Grand Masti aayi – blockbuster. Phir Great Grand Masti aayi (2016) – pirated ho gaya, leaked ho gaya, par franchise mar nahi gayi.

Ab 2025 mein, 21 SAAL BAAD, woh same trio – Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani – phir se screen par aa rahe hain. Mastiii 4.

Ek baat samjho, Mastiii franchise is the ONLY adult comedy franchise to reach part four in Hindi cinema. 

Ab 8 saal baad woh wapas hain. UK setting, new faces, same chaos. Toh chalte hain, dikhate hain kya ho raha hai.

THE BEGINNING :

Mastiii 4 opening mein establish karti hai – Amar (Riteish), Meet (Vivek), Prem (Aftab) – ye teeno London mein base hain. Lekin unki lives? 

Shit. Marriage ke baad har cheez boring ho gayi.

Beginning mein kya dikhai deta hai:

Amar ek zoo mein kaam karta hai – jab se shaadi hui, boring ho gaya. Prem aur Meet bhi – same story. Wives ne chain hi nahi chhod rakha hai. Possessive, controlling, boring routines – wahi sab jo Indian households mein hota hai, lekin London ke exotic background mein.

Toh ek din, teeno ek second thought lete hain – “Kyun nahi relive karte hain apne bachelor days?” Kyun nahi apne young life ke masti ko dobara live karte hain?

Yeh fundamental problem hai: Ya toh ye three friends seriously philosophical ho gaye (which would be weird for this franchise), ya phir kuch misunderstanding hone wali hai.

The Direction & The Script – Milap’s Comeback Move

Ab, very important context – Milap Zaveri ek director, jinhone Satyameva Jayate 2 kardi, jo FLOP hui. Career low point tha.

Phir Indra Kumar (original Masti ke producer-director) ne unheine Mastiii 4 diya.

Milap ne interviews mein kaha – “Ritesh Deshmukh was very insistent I direct this. He believed in me when I was down.”

Basically, Riteish Deshmukh ne ek struggling director ko faith dilayi. Aur Milap ne kya likha? Ek script jisne teeno actors ko “utaar diya” emotionally – meaning, they loved it so much that Aftab said “hume script ki zaroorat nahi!”

But actually script thi – aur achii thi shayad.

The Criminals:

Kahin mein ek criminal angle aata hai. Maybe some encounter with dangerous people, maybe some misunderstanding jahan ye teeno gunde-type se involve ho jaate hain. This adds action-comedy element – not pure romantic chaos, but also danger-comedy.

But, remember vulgarity is FRONT AND CENTER.

Arshad Warsi – Jisne Dhamaal franchise mein comedy kari thi. 

Tusshar Kapoor – Tusshar ne Kyaa Kool Hain Hum (2005) mein Riteish ke saath bhi kaam kiya tha.

Basically dono already experienced hain is type ke comedy mein. They know the grammar.

Songs expected hain: Remix versions, fun tracks, par groundbreaking nahi. Kyunki adult comedy mein music secondary hota hai – humour primary hota hai.

The only adult comedy franchise to reach Part 4 in Hindi cinema.

Mastiii? Pure adult comedy se Part 4 pauncha? That’s HUGE. Kyunki adult comedy typically niche hota hai – sabko pasand nahi. Lekin 21 saal se yeh franchise relevant hai.

What if it was Akshay Kumar instead of Riteish?

Akshay have done comedies historically, but Akshay ke charm mein ek “heroic quality” hoti hai. Riteish naturally more goofy, more relatable common man – that’s why Mastiii works.

What if Arjun Rampal instead of Vivek Oberoi?

Vivek ki specialty – overconfident, pompous character jo fall karte hain. That’s his comic strength. Arjun ke paas woh natural timing nahi.

Aftab’s importance:

People often forget Aftab – lekin Aftab ka quiet intensity, his comic timing through expressions – woh crucial hain.

Arshad & Tusshar Integration:

Arshad Warsi already established comedian, already worked with Milap. Tusshar bhi sex-comedy expert. So they fit naturally, they don’t overshadow the trio.

Will it be a blockbuster?

Depends on your definition. Critics are divided already. Families won’t go (jaana bhi nahin chahiye). Franchise fans will cry happy tears (probably). Box office – middle ground.

Is it worth watching?

If you’re the TARGET audience – absolutely yes. If not – absolutely no. Koi beech wala nahi hai.
